GOD THE FATHER

Before "His final conflict with the powers of darkness, Jesus prayed to his father for His disciples. The burden of Jesus’ request was that those who believed on Him might be kept from the evil of the world, and be sanctified through the truth. He does not leave us to vague surmising as to what the truth is, but adds, “Thy word is truth.” The Word of God is the means by which our sanctification is to be accomplished. It is of the greatest importance, then, that we acquaint ourselves with the sacred instruction of the Bible.
THY WORD IS TRUTH.

We shall be inexcusable if, through our own negligence, we are ignorant of the claims of God's Word. God has given us His Word, the revelation of His will, and has promised the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him, to guide them into all truth; and every soul who honestly desires to do the will of God shall know of the doctrine.... John 7:17
It is a matter of the highest importance and interest to us that we understand what truth is, and our petitions should go forth with intense earnestness that we may be guided into all truth.
David appreciated the divine enlightenment, and recognized the power of the Word of God. He declared, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Let those who desire light search the Scriptures, comparing scripture with scripture, and pleading with God for the illumination of the Holy Spirit. The promise is that those who seek shall find.—The Review and Herald, July 6, 1911.RC 101.3- 7
WHAT HAS THE WORD DECLARED "GOD THE FATHER" TO BE?
His title, "God the Father" gives it away. God is the Father of someone. In Scripture, leaving aside creation, there are only three living entities that God can be the Father of.
Jesus
Angels
Man
Angels are sons of God by creation, hence God is their Father.
Man, because of sin, is the son of God by adoption, hence God is their Father.
But unlike angels and man, Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus is not the Son of God by creation
Jesus is not the Son of God by adoption
Jesus is the only begotten son of God
GOD THE FATHER IS THE FATHER OF CHRIST
Speaking of Jesus and the Father John declares:
"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him." 1John 5:1
1John 5:1 is telling us that God the Father begat the Son and everyone who loves the Father who begat the Son, also loves the Son that was begotten of the Father.
This is a great mysterious way beyond our comprehension, that the Father begat the Son and it wasn't just in Mary's womb that this happened. In Daniel chapter 3:25, King Nebuchadnezzar recognised this when he stated: "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
The King saw the Son of God in the burning fiery furnace. This is a pre-incarnation event long before Christ was inexplicably conceived in Mary's womb. Hence God the Father had a Son to give in John 3:16
THE PHRASE "GOD THE FATHER" IS STATED TWELVE TIMES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE
In all twelve verses, God the Father is mentioned in conjunction with His Son, Jesus Christ.
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;
Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
47 TIMES IN THE KING JAMES BIBLE JESUS IS REFERRED TO AS THE "SON OF GOD"
It is interesting that Jesus Christ is never addressed in Scripture as "God the Son". This is phrase was mistakenly added in the medieval manuscript, MS No.1985, where the "Son of God" was changed to "God the Son" in Galatians 2:20. - "Ehrman, Bart D. (1993). The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture: The Effect of Early Christological Controversies On The Text of The New Testament. New York: Oxford University Press. p. 86. ISBN 9780195102796."
PAUL THE APOSTLE'S POSITION AS TO WHO GOD IS.

Paul's position is definitive, there is one God, the person called the Father or God the Father as noted above. And he distinguishes between this person called the one God and another person called "one Lord", the person Jesus Christ whom we know is "the Son of God" and not as "God the Son"
In the following verses (2Cor 1:2,3) Paul makes the distinction between God the Father and His son the Lord Jesus Christ

Paul repeats himself to Timothy in the following:

Paul says there is:
One God
One mediator between God and men
That one mediator is the man Christ Jesus
Hence, line upon line, here a little there a little, (Isaiah 28:10,13) one can conclude:
The "One God" is God the Father
There is one mediator between God the Father and men
That one mediator is "the man Christ Jesus.
Furthermore, Paul said in:

The God Paul speaks of is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, called God the Father in scripture. Note what John says in 2John 1:3:

Grace, mercy and peace comes to us from both God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father.
In John 20:17, Jesus tells Mary:

Jesus himself acknowledged that his Father was the only true God:

Hope this page has kindled a spark as to the God whom you as a Christian believe in. Is that God the God of the Bible or is it something else?
The page is incomplete so please revisit from time to time.
May God bless you as you study into these things. (2Timothy 2:15)
