THE LAST SUPERPOWER - THE USA
The United States of America holds a special place in Bible prophecy. This nation represented by the second beast of Revelation 13:11 will be instrumental in seeing off the last days of this earth's history just prior to the second coming of Christ. PAPAL ROME - FIRST BEAST OF REVELATION 13:1-10
The first beast of Revelation 13:1-10 has been identified by many expositors of Bible Prophecy as Papal Rome - the beast with the wounded head. cf the Little Horn of Daniel 7, they are one and the same power.
Papal Rome led God's people into captivity, so itself goes into captivity.
Papal Rome killed God's people by the sword so was itself "killed" by the sword.
The Papal wound was inflicted by Atheistic France in 1798
Pagan Rome transitioned to Papal Rome in Daniel 2,7,8 & 11
Papal Rome is a union of CHURCH (clay) & STATE (iron) - Daniel 2
The second beast of Revelation 13 will form an image of the first beast.
The professed Christian church of the USA will unite with the State.
US Protestant Christianity will unite with the STATE to legislate church laws.
The USA will exercise all the power of the first beast (Papal Rome) - v 12
The USA will cause the EARTH to worship the first beast (Papal Rome) - v 12
The USA will cause the people to worship the first beast (Papal Rome) - v 12
The USA will coerce the world to form an image of the 1st beast - Rev 13:14
The USA will give life to the image of the beast - church & state unions.
This image of the beast will kill anyone who does not worship it - v 15
The USA (church & state union) will enforce the Mark of the Beast - v 16
The USA will enforce economic boycott against refusers of the Mark etc - v 17
One might ask how will the Protestant Christian church of the USA go about doing all this? There are countries who might object and resist all such moves including Communist China, North Korea and Russia.
The answer lies in the union of church and state with the church having the state do its bidding, including passing laws that are persecutory or discriminatory in nature.
The prophecy speaking of the US Church / State coalition says:
"And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Rev 13:12
THE POWER OF THE FIRST BEAST - PAPAL ROME
The power of Papal Rome lies in its use of the state to prosecute its edicts against its enemies - namely Christians who uphold Bible truth, who take their stand on the Scriptures, a "thus saith the Lord" rather than a "thus saith the church".
Papal apologies whether by Pope John Paul II or Pope Francis do not have any impact on those ignorant of history and the atrocities perpetrated by Papal Rome on the human family.
Pope John Paul II officially made more than 100 apologies during his pontificate including those to "Jews, women, people convicted by the Inquisition, Muslims killed by the Crusaders and almost everyone who had suffered at the hands of the Catholic Church over the years."
"On 20 November 2001, from a laptop in the Vatican, Pope John Paul II sent his first e-mail apologizing for the Catholic sex abuse cases, the Church-backed "Stolen Generations" of Aboriginal children in Australia, and to China for the behavior of Catholic missionaries in colonial times.[13]" - Wikipedia
"That the church of Rome has shed more innocent blood than any other institution that has ever existed among mankind, will be questioned by no Protestant who has a competent knowledge of history.. It is impossible to form a complete conception of the magnitude of her victims, and it is quite certain that no powers of imagination can adequately realise their sufferings." - WH Lecky, History of the Rise and Influence of the Spirit of Rationalism in Europe, vol 2, p. 32, 1910 Edition.
These were more than errors. Papal Rome was a killing machine. It systematically persecuted and put to death millions of Bible believing Christians, labelling them heretics worthy of death.
Daniel 7:25 speaking of the Little Horn (Papal Rome) predicted this would occur:
"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time".
Revelation 13 picks up on this in verse 7:
"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."
"The archbishop of St. Louis said: 'Heresy and unbelief are crimes; and in Christian countries, as in Italy and Spain, for instance, where all people are Catholics, and where the Catholic religion is an essential part of the law of the land, they are punished as crimes.... "'Every cardinal, archbishop, and bishop in the Catholic Church takes an oath of allegiance to the pope, in which occur the following words: 'Heretic, schismatics, and rebels to our said lord (the pope), or his aforesaid successors, I will to my utmost persecute and oppose.'" Josiah Strong, in "Our Country," ch. 5, pars 2-4.
"For professing faith contrary to the teachings of the church of Rome, history records the martyrdom of more than one hundred million people. A million Waldenses and Albigenses [Swiss and French Protestants] perished during a crusade proclaimed by Pope Innocent III in 1208. Beginning from the establishment of the Jesuits in 1540 to 1580, nine hundred thousand were destroyed. One hundred and fifty thousand perished by the inquisition in thirty years. Within the space of thirty-eight years after the edict of Charles V against Protestants, fifty thousand persons were hanged, beheaded, or burned alive for heresy. Eighteen thousand more perished during the administration of the Duke of Alva in five and a half years." Brief Bible Readings, p. 16.
THE CATHOLIC POSITION ON ALL WHO OPPOSE HER
"The Catholic has some reason on his side when he calls for the temporal punishment of heretics, for he claims the true title of Christian for himself exclusively, and professes to be taught by the never-failing presence of the Spirit of God.. It is not more 'morally' wrong to put a man to death for heresy than for murder,.. [and] in many cases persecution for religious opinions is not only permissible, but highly advisable and necessary." - "The Lawfulness of Persecution" in The Rambler, 4, June, 1849, pp. 119, 126 ["The Rambler" was an English Roman Catholic journal published from 1848 to 1862]
"You ask if he (the Roman Catholic) were lord in the land, and you were in a minority, if not in numbers yet in power, what would he do to you? That, we say, would entirely depend upon circumstances. If it would benefit the cause of Catholicism, he would tolerate you: If expedient, he would imprison you, banish you, fine you; possibly, he might even hang you. But be assured of one thing: He would never tolerate you for the sake of 'the glorious principles of civil and religious liberty'...Catholicism is the most intolerant of creeds. "The Catholic Church has persecuted...when she thinks it is good to use physical force she will use it...Will the Catholic Church give bond that she will not persecute?...The Catholic Church gives no bonds for her good behaviour." Western Watchman (Catholic Paper), December 24, 1908.
"When confronted with heresy, she (The Catholic Church) does not content herself with persuasion, arguments of an intellectual and moral order appear to her insufficient, and she has recourse to force, to corporal punishment, to torture." "Communists destroy churches because they are God's enemies; Catholic's destroy (non-Catholic) churches because they are God's friends...Against such men-founded churches...Catholics in Latin America should arise and wipe them out with fire." John J. Oberlander, in The Voice of Freedom, 1954, p. 20.
It is beyond comprehension how people can be so mentally captive and believe so much in a religion that they are convinced it is just and right to kill people who differ from or disagree with the Catholic faith.
THE CATHOLIC PRIEST'S OATH
I, _____, now in the presence of Almighty God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the blessed Michael and Archangel, the blessed St. John the Baptist, the holy Apostles, St. Peter and St. Paul, and the Saints and the Sacred Hosts of Heaven, and to you my Lord, I do declare from my heart, without mental reservation, that the Pope is Christ's Vicar-General, and is the true and only Head of the Universal Church throughout the earth, and that by virtue of the keys of binding and loosing given to his Holiness by Jesus Christ, he has power to dispose heretical kings, princes, states, commonwealths and governments, all being illegal without his sacred confirmation, and they may safely be destroyed. Therefore, to the uttermost of my power, I will defend the doctrine and his Holiness' rights and customs against all usurpers of the Protestant authority whatsoever, especially against the now pretended authority and church in England and all adherents, in regard that they be usurpal and heretical opposing the Sacred Mother, the Church of Rome.
"I do denounce and disown any allegiance as due to any Protestant king, prince, state, or obedience to any of their inferior officers. I do further declare the doctrine of the church of England, of the Calvinists, Huguenots and other Protestants to be damnable, and those to be damned who will not forsake the same.
"I do further declare that I will help, assist, and advise all or any of his Holiness' agents in any place wherever I shall be, and do my utmost to extirpate Protestant doctrine, and to destroy all their pretended power, legal or otherwise. THE CATHOLIC BISHOP'S OATH "I, _____, elect of the church of _____, from henceforth will be faithful and obedient to St. Peter the Apostle and to the holy Roman Church, and to our Lord, the Lord _____, Pope _____, and to his successors canonically entering. I will neither advise, consent, nor do anything that they may lose life or member, or that their persons may be seized, or hands any wise laid upon them, or any injuries offered to them under any pretense whatsoever. The council with which they shall entrust me by themselves, their messengers, or letters, I will not knowingly reveal to any to their prejudice. I will help them to keep and to defend the Roman Papacy, and the regalities of St. Peter, saving my Order against all men. THE CATHOLIC CARDINAL'S OATH "I, _____, of the holy Roman Church, Cardinal of _____, promise and swear from this hour hence as long as I live to be faithful and obedient to the blessed St. Peter, the Holy Roman Apostolic Church, and the Most Holy Lord Pius X, and also his canonically elected successors. I swear to give no counsel, nor to concur in anything and not to aid in any way against the pontifical majesty or person; never to disclose affairs entrusted to me by the nuncios, or in their letters, willingly or knowingly, to their detriment or dishonor; to be ever ready to aid them to retain, defend, or recover their rights against all.
"I shall fight with all my zeal and all my forces for their honor and dignity. THE EXTREME OATH OF THE JESUITS

"That I may go to any part of the world withersoever I may be sent, to the frozen regions of the North, the burning sands of the desert of Africa, or the jungles of India, to the centers of civilization of Europe, or to the wild haunts of the barbarous savages of America, without murmuring or repining, and will be submissive in all things whatsoever communicated to me.
"I furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity present, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants' heads against the walls, in order to annihilate forever their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poisoned cup, the strangulating cord, the steel of the poniard or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity, or authority of the person or persons, whatever may be their condition in life, either public or private, as I at any time may be directed so to do by any agent of the Pope or Superior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Faith, of the Society of Jesus.
In confirmation of which, I hereby dedicate my life, my soul and all my corporal powers, and with this dagger which I now receive, I will subscribe my name written in my own blood, in testimony thereof; and should I prove false or weaken in my determination, may my brethren and fellow soldiers of the Militia of the Pope cut off my hands and my feet, and my throat from ear to ear, my belly opened and sulphur burned therein, with all the punishment that can be inflicted upon me on earth and my soul be tortured by demons in an eternal hell forever!

(He receives the wafer from the Superior and writes his name with the point of his dagger dipped in his own blood taken from over his heart.)
WHAT IRONY!
POLITICS TODAY
In the above article, Pope Benedict VI is said to have cited a conversation between a Byzantine emperor and a Persian scholar, “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Appears Pope Benedict VI could not see the wood for the trees in Papal Rome's massacre of millions of Bible believing Christians - "only evil and inhuman", "to spread by the sword" the Roman Catholic faith.
PAPAL ROME WAS ESTABLISHED BY MILITARY AID.
Papal Rome came to power via the aid of the state - by the Franks' King Clovis
Papal Rome lost its power via the state - by the Franks' Napoleon Bonaparte
Papal Rome will again come to power via the aid of the state - the USA
The Protestants of the USA will ultimately gain control of the State and legislate in favour of the Professed Christian church. Countries are being programmed at present to accept the Pope and Papal Rome as the pre-eminent representative of the Christian religion and indeed of all world religions.
HOW WILL THE USA EFFECT ROME'S GLOBAL AGENDA?
And cause those changes in our world outlined in Revelation 13:11-17
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,
He causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast,
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven
He deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by those miracles
He says to them that dwell on the earth,
that they should make an image to the beast,
He had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
That the image of the beast should both speak, and cause
That as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
He causeth all, ... to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
DANIEL CHAPTER 11:40 COMES TO OUR AID.
Like Papal Rome, Protestant USA will become a persecutory power as she exercises all the power of the first beast - union of church and state. Religious intolerance will be revived and religious liberty will be imperilled. Indeed it is already being greatly undermined in the eroding of free speech under the guise of so called discrimination, racism, political correctness etc.
Recall in the study of Daniel 11 that:
The literal King of the North was Seleucus of the Seleucid Empire
The literal King of the South was Ptolemy of Egypt
The literal King of the North is defeated by Rome in verse 16
With that victory, Rome assumes the title King of the North.
The literal Rome of the Caesars transitions to the Rome of the Popes in v 31.
With that transition, Papal Rome becomes the spiritual King of the North.
Egypt was the literal king of the South at the beginning of Daniel 11
Pharaoh demonstrated his God defying Atheism in Exodus 5:2
After the transition from literal to spiritual Rome, Atheism is the KOTS*.
* KOTS = King of the South
"And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over."
The King of the South in the form of Atheism in France attacked Papal Rome, dealing her the deadly wound as we saw earlier. But Papal Rome is predicted to come at the King of the South (Atheism) like a whirlwind with chariots and horsemen and with many ships.
Atheism is embedded in Communism.
Hence the enemy of Papal Rome is Communism.

HOW WILL PAPAL ROME ACHIEVE ITS GOALS?
The prophecy said it would come against the King of the South with:
Chariots and Horsemen
Many ships
WHAT DO CHARIOTS AND HORSEMEN & MANY SHIPS SYMBOLISE IN PROPHECY?
Chariots and Horsemen symbolise MILITARY POWER
Ships symbolise TRADE or ECONOMIC POWER
Chariots & horsemen = MILITARY power.
Whirlwind = FAST (Amos 1:14; Jer 4:13). This language is borrowed from a description of literal Babylon, “his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles...” (Jer 4:13).
*Literal Babylon was a type of the end-time king of the north. See the King of the North study in Daniel 1&2 on this website.
Ships = ECONOMIC or TRADING power (Ps 107:23; Rev 18:17, 19; Eze 27:24, 25)
In history the military power of the Franks (France - King Clovis) came to the aid of Papal Rome to help establish the Papacy so Revelation 13 states that the Second Beast, the USA, will aid Papal Rome, the first beast, in getting all to worship her as all the world wonders [or marvels] after the Roman beast.
The USA just so happens to be the world's largest ECONOMIC and MILITARY POWER.
ECONOMIC SANCTIONS and MILITARY POWER are the weapons to be deployed against the King of the South. Communist China, Russia and North Korea will be brought to heel. War will rage in the last days of this earth's history. (Matthew 24:6-8)
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. [Since Russia launched its unjustified and unprovoked all-out war against Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has worked with Allies and partners around the world to impose an unprecedented range of sanctions and export controls on Russia for its brutal aggression. Moreover, we will continue to impose costs on the Kremlin for as long as its war of aggression continues.
Sanctions and export controls are having significant and long-lasting consequences on Russia’s defense industrial base. Since February 2022, the United States and our partners and Allies have coordinated to use export controls and sanctions to restrict Russia’s access to advanced technology , which has degraded the Russian weapons industry’s ability to produce and stockpile weapons to replace those that have been destroyed in the war.
A few effects include:
Major supply shortages for Russian forces in Ukraine are forcing Russia to turn to less technologically advanced countries such as Iran and North Korea for supplies and equipment.
Russia is struggling to import semiconductors and other key components. Export controls have forced Russia to cannibalize existing airline parts they can no longer access abroad.
Russian hypersonic ballistic missile production has nearly ceased due to the lack of necessary semiconductors used in the manufacturing process.
Russia’s military aviation program has been cut off from resupply provided by global aviation trade.
Russian media reports that production of its next-generation airborne early warning and control military aircraft has stalled due to lack of foreign components, including semiconductors.
Mechanical plants, including those producing surface-to-air missiles, have been shut down due to shortages of foreign-origin components.
Russia has reverted to Soviet-era defense stocks because our measures have interrupted Russian companies’ abilities to replenish domestic supply chains.
Exports on certain goods and services, including dollar-denominated banknotes, accounting, management consulting, quantum computing, and trust and corporate formation services to persons located in the Russian Federation are now prohibited.
In addition, since February 2022, the U.S. government has:
Denied all [U.S.] exports, reexports to, and transfers of items subject to the Export Administration Regulations for military end uses or end users in the Russian Federation and Belarus.
Targeted Russian and Belarusian military end users through their addition to the Department of Commerce’s Entity List, which has effectively cut off these end users from nearly all items subject to the Export Administration Regulations.
Denied exports to, reexports to, and transfer within Russia and Belarus of items needed for oil refining. Also imposed additional license requirements to further limit the Russian oil sector by restricting the export, reexport and transfer of additional items needed for oil refining.
Targeted items useful for Russia’s chemical and biological weapons production capabilities and other advanced manufacturing by imposing export controls.
Targeted luxury goods to impose costs on certain Russian oligarchs who support the Russian government by imposing license requirements and denying licenses for the export and reexport of luxury goods for all end users within Russia.
Used new foreign direct product rules targeted at Russia to prevent exports of foreign-origin items produced with U.S. advanced technologies, tools, and software. This prevents these items being transferred to support Russia’s military capabilities.
Formed a coalition of 37 countries that has amplified the impact of U.S. actions by applying substantially similar controls to those imposed by the United States. This robust global coalition reinforces U.S. efforts to isolate Russia from commodities, technologies, and software necessary for Putin’s war.
Furthermore, sanctions (administered and enforced by the U.S. Department of Treasury) are having a significant impact on Russia’s ability to wage its unjust war against Ukraine. Specifically, sanctions implemented by the United States along with Allies and partners and allies have immobilized about $300 billion worth of Russian Central Bank assets, limiting the central bank’s ability to aid the war effort and mitigate sanctions impacts. Sanctioned Russian oligarchs and financial institutions have been forced to divest from long-held assets outside Russia. Moreover, sanctions have prompted banks in several countries to curtail ties with the Russian financial sector. Despite benefiting from high energy prices, the IMF still expects Russia’s economy will contract by over 3 percent this year. Lost investment, export controls, and constraints on Russia’s real economy will create a drag on Russia’s growth prospects for years to come. Significantly, U.S. sanctions and export controls have severed Russia’s access to key technologies and industrial inputs that erode its military capability. Since February 2022, the United States has issued approximately 1,500 new and 750 amended sanctions listings, including:
State Corporation Rostec, the cornerstone of Russia’s defense-industrial base that includes more than 800 entities within the Russian military-industrial complex, such as Sukhoi, MiG, and Kalashnikov Concern.
Joint Stock Company Mikron, Russia’s largest manufacturer and exporter of microelectronics.
Tactical Missiles Corporation JSC, a Russian state-owned enterprise that produces missiles used by the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine.
Individuals and entities located outside Russia who have sought to procure goods and technology for the Russian military-industrial complex and intelligence services
Russia’s largest financial institutions and restricted dealings with banks representing 80 percent of Russian banking sector assets.
Rosoboronexport, which is Russia’s sole state-controlled intermediary agency for exporting and importing the entire range of military, defense, and dual-use products, technologies, and services.
Issued guidance emphasizing the sanctions and export control risk to individuals and entities inside and outside Russia that provide material support for Russia’s sham referenda and purported annexation of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.

[Finnish PM Sanna Marin has said Europe is "not strong enough" to stand up to Russia's invasion of Ukraine on its own, and has had to rely on US support.
During a visit to Australia, the leader of the pending Nato member said Europe's defences must be strengthened.
"I must be brutally honest with you, Europe isn't strong enough right now," she said. "We would be in trouble without the United States."
The US is by far the largest provider of military assistance to Ukraine.
Since the start of the war in February, it has committed $18.6bn (€17.7bn; £15.2bn) in support, a research briefing last month by the UK's House of Commons said.
The second largest donor is the European Union, followed by the UK, the Kiel Institute for the World Economy says. But their contributions are dwarfed by those of the US.]
